Statement of Purpose

A Child Contact Centre is a safe and neutral place where children of separated families can spend quality time with one or both parents and sometimes other family members when there is no viable alternative.
Contact is child centred and by working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals we aim to support the children’s physical, emotional and social development through knowing both sides of their family.

Our Values

  • Children have rights and as such their rights must be protected and their development promoted in order to enable them to achieve their full potential.
  • We believe that all children and their families should be valued and supported as individuals and members of the community
  • We value the rich diversity of our families.
  • We actively welcome suggestions and comments on the services we provide.

What kind of contact does CIMS offer?

Supported (Sundays 2pm-4pm):

This is when there are several families in a room with volunteers on   hand to assist with handover and facilitate contact for the duration.

 Handover:

Contact takes place away from the premises. The centre is used for drop off and pick up and collection times are recorded

Child Protection and Welfare:

We operate within NACCC Child protection policy and work in partnership with referrers to ensure the protection of children during and around contact. Where appropriate independent qualified staff, CAFCASS or Social workers will observe contact.

CIM is open Monday to Sunday. Referrals are accepted from CAFCASS, Social Services and Solicitors. Self referrals are also accepted in exceptional cases.
